For this week, we had to bring a song about school, I choosed "Never miss a beat" by Kaiser Chiefs, I liked the song because even though the word "school" is only mentioned in the beginning, the song is always related to it (in my opinion), I find the lyrics very catchy and funny, specially during the beginning.
The song was awesome and one part that was like "what did you learn at school? I learned nothing" remembered me of the times I had a really boring class and I... well, I learned nothing.
I think that it is neat how so many song are related to the school, because I found an entire list out there, and my classmates also brought a lot, I particulary liked one song "simple man" from one classmate named Felipe because his song was impresive as it did not talked about teaching itseft, though the classmate related the lyrics with teaching in a very interesting way
The song was very interesting, it is something to share with other people, However, songs like that should be handled carefully in a classroom because Students might misinterpretate its Meaning.
Anyway, What do you think of school songs?
What do you think of the so many songs that say studying is not good?
Do you like these songs even if you think they are not appropriate? Why?
if you ask to many people here how much they learnt in school and high school they will answer you a few things.
ReplyDelete1. I think that all the songs has a part of our feelings and how we have felt some days.
Delete2. That many of those songs are parodies and things to make people laugh. On the other hand there are the songs that really speaks about a reality in school, high school and beyond.
3. I liked all the songs I saw ones funnier than other ones and ones more meaningful than other ones.
Really good story and description about the song.....and I think that songs like this are obviously appropiate to every kind of people, seeing it from a critical point-
ReplyDeletePerhaps
DeleteAll the songs are good !!! I don't sure if everybody like it but I enjoy it
ReplyDeleteI really believe music is a good way to express feelings either good or bad about school, it is different. I would say so that music that expreses bad feelings have a reason, as the writer experience on school or just his point of view, if the song likes me, it is included with the message.
ReplyDeleteMistə...
ReplyDeletein fact:
1. The reality is quite unlike we guess. so i consider that many song just hyperbolize what really matters, the main facts that are involved in relation with our System.
2. That songs only expose (literally) some statements under consent of guessings and misundertandings.
3. Seldom... jejejejeje like yours. it was so hilarious!
Esteban, music will be in people's life forever and of course I also liked or like songs that maybe talks about being a rebel, and we cannot prevent that students listen to them so we as teachers could teach them good music with good and relevant lyrics and teach them not only a language ,also culture.
ReplyDeleteSorry if I meant that, i tried to mean something more like "there are some things that should be found by ourselves"
Delete1. They can have a good message (recognizing teachers' job) or only talk about crap (I apologize for this word).
ReplyDelete2. I think that kind of music is wrong, knowledge is one of the best things in life.
3. First I need to know why do you think they are not appropriate.
Well, Probably for its Message I guess
Delete1) Sometimes there are good songs and sometimes not good at all.
ReplyDelete2) We don't want to generalize but several times we have heard how kids don't want to study and they don't want go to school for that reason people created songs about that because are feelings of many people not just one person.
3) We like the message.
I think is a good way to express how you feel or your thoghts about a situation, so people have their own point of view and not all of them have had good experiences with school
ReplyDeleteCertainly
Delete1. I think that is a good manner to see different concepts about school
ReplyDelete2. we need to do strategies for change the concept.
3. No, I don´t like.
